Macy Gray – I Try (Jay Dee remix)

this one’s crazy. the beat is very, very reminiscent of ‘A Film Called Pimp’ off LWFC, but not quite. when i stumbled onto this one, it made me think of how beatmakers can go through phases, much like old jazz artists and painters, in which their art has a similar steez and feel to it before they switch it all up and do something new.

Raekwon – Flawless Crowns

you should have heard this by now, it’s why Cuban Linx II should be dope.

Pete Rock & CL Smooth – One In A Million

you should have heard this by now, it’s why Pete and CL are one of the foundation duos in Hip Hop.

Guilty Simpson – GUILTY (Pause freestyle)

Guilty rips shit, simple as that. most are accustomed to having Frank and Dank over this beat orginally, but Guilty makes it all his own in this version. hopefully more people take this kind of approach to mixtapes.

Supreeme – The Truth

Negasi Armada, King Self aka Sam, Tom Cruz aka Shaka aka Dope Pope

Murs & Slug – 20 Answers

this track was a bonus off of Felt 2: a tribute to Lisa Bonet, and was one of those, should-have-been-on-the-real-thing joints.

Busta Rhymes – So Hardcore

so hardcore like Quick Draw McGraw. this is the lanky, King-Louie-from-the-Jungle-Book-look-alike, dread-swinging, hand-where-my-eyes-can-see-putting Busta, which I prefer.
